hello everybody ;is there sombody that knows enything about jappanees bild arms espesially a repro off the french charleville,I'think the 1777 model

Miroku makes several of DGW's guns including the Mountain Rifle they've sold for years. Also have manufactured most of Brownings guns for 20-30 years. Their stuff is on a par with al lot of the Italian made. Haven't seen one of the Bess's for years and don't recall how accurate their copy is. Probably no worse than the Italian versions.

I have a Japanese-manufactured 1763 Charleville... though it may not be an EXACT replica, is is incredibly reliable - misfires are rare, even in bad weather. It is one of my favorite guns for shooting shot, though the very limited stock drop is a bit painful to the cheek with heavy loads or roundballs, at least for me (though it is accurate enough with a patched roundball for whitetailed deer at fifty yards).

thanks for sharing jour knowlitch with me over here it verry hard to find info ore even mutch difrent guns we do have one shop in belgium dat sels black powder guns but thats it.and i dont even can gues wat trobble i have to go truw importing one from the USA.so we have to make do with pedersolli.and some hege and some older spanisch ones, so wenever that one shop has somting spesial like now the japanees one i,m intrested, sorry for my bad englisch but ,in the old days i geuss i was't the only one that had a languitch problem.normely i,m dutch speeking so kowe figure. :rotf: :rotf: :haha:

Marmot, I have the same problem with my "63 Model Charlie. Its too short in the butt and actually has some cast on and is too straight. I have a piece of hard as nails walnut that is too short for a rifle and I am cosidering re stocking my Charlie and americanizing it some. Maybe even brand it with U.S. Definetly gonna make the drop deeper and lengthen the LOP. It's such a dependable musket that I think it worth the trouble. Maybe next winter's project.
I wanted a "77 Charlie but the officers in my regiment said they were too late for the Rev. War for american soldiers and that is what I was doing at the time of purchase. The 77's sure look cool though.
