Just got done sanding and polishing my woodsrunner cock, lock plate, and frizzen. Regarding applying Jax Black to the lock plate, can one just drop the whole plate into the Jax Black or do you just apply it to the outside? Don’t know if there’s any concerns with patina on the inside of the plate? Thanks!

Just a heads up if you've not used Jax Black before. It isn't a super durable finish. It's more or less intended to wear quickly giving the patinaed look. Or you can use steel wool and take it back to a desired level of gray. Or it's super easy to reapply for touch up so if you like the freshly applied look, it will stay like that a good while and can be maintained that way.
