I am looking for more information and any enactors of John Liver-eating Johnson. (Redford put out the movie Jeremiah Johnson based on the books, Crow Killer and Mountain Man.)
I am putting togther the book this year.
There are several guns that Johnson used over the years that folks have (that I have information on), if there are folks interested.

Thanks,

Dorman Nelson

Well, I for sure would be interested in getting that book when you are finished. Please let me know when and where it can be bought. I'm sure others here would want it also.

I went to the Museum of the Mountain Man in Pinedale, WY a couple of weeks ago on vacation. In the lobby are books on the mountain men and indians. I bought "Crow Killer" for $13. They had several other books there (plus more copies of crow killer) but my wife kept urging me to get back on the road. Cool museum, plus Jim Bridger's rifle on display. The bad part was they wouldn't let me bring my camera inside.

I knowed Redford wuz gittin old .. but I did not think him THAT old!

They moved Johnson's body to Cody, I think in the late 70's but could have been early 80's. Saw a photo of the doings when I was in cody a few years ago, RR was wearing powder blue bell bottoms ::. I'll bet old Liver Eatin' was rolling over before they even put him in the ground :haha:
