Has anybody heard/read of the gunsmith John Mullins? I saw a halfstock in a sale with his name on the barrel (additionally "New York") and on the lockplate.

John Mullin worked with his brother Patrick. Their guns are very highly regarded and are of the best workmanship although typically quite plain. I have a John Mullin New York 8g sxs. The craftsmanship is wonderfull. There are people with quite alot of knowledge on the Mullins here http://www.gunshop.com/
