Finishing up a golf ball-bore mortar project. Base is 12”x5-1/2”.
These things are fun to shoot

That looks really nice, with what looks like a hefty barrel.
Did you make any of the parts?
I agree on the fun factor, Good Luck with your new mortar and tell us more about your firing like powder charge, loading and range.

Thanks sir, she’s very stout. Petersen Cannon made the barrel for me and I made the rest of it. I cut the block from an old 4x6 post…man that wood was tough to carve.

The barrel sits on about a 48 degree angle, and with a 300 grain charge of 1F goex I can’t find the golf balls to know about distance. If I slow it down to 120 grains they go around 200 yards. Petersen recommends using a max load of 330 grains of 2F powder.

I didn’t get any pics of this one but I made her a twin and here’s a pic of that one firing…,
