Jonathan Browning Mountain Rifle in .50 caliber.
Rifle is in extremely good condition, no major dings to the stock, browning is strong. It does show a few minor handling marks but overall for its age it shows well.
Bore is strong, grooves show a bit of frosting, lands are bright (will try to get better bore pics).
I have not fired it.
In the name of full disclosure there are 2 noteworthy items-
A- when I got the rifle the lock was barely able to function due to the tumbler hole in the lockplate being wallowed out. The lock plate has been bushed with a shouldered steel bushing and lock functions well with perfect alignment on the nipple.
B- the toeplate is not original, the stock had 2 large chips in front of the original one. A longer toeplate was fabricated and installed (could use a bit more browning to match though).
This is a very clean example of a JBMR.
Priced at $700.00 shipped to the lower 48. Will come with a spare mainspring.
No trades at this time please.
