Hey guys, New here from Texas!(and new to BP) I got a Jukar Kentucky .45 from my wife the other day and the front sight is too short. Does anyone know where I can get a new one? It is not dovetail, it looks like a pushed in rod with the blade on top. It is too short to be very accurate, but just the same, I would like to have some fun with it.

Welcome to the ML Forum. I've seen Jukar pistols with round barrels with no sights. And octagon barrels with dovetailed front and rear sights. Does your pistol have a rear sight? Could your front sight be threaded? GW

The Early Jukar (CVA's) had a pressed in sight. Best bet is to remove it and either file you a dovetail and use that type of sight or build up the original with "JB" weld and file down. You might remove the front sight and drill for size and use an 1/8th inch piece of brass rod for a new sight.................Bob

With a short front sight it should be shooting high.

Rather than trying to replace the front sight you could either lower the rear sight or do as the old timers did and learn where its hitting and then change your point of aim to make up for the error.

Try aiming at the bottom of the bulls eye or even 2 inches below it. That might be all it takes to start hitting where you want it to hit.

Thanks for the replys! It shoots waaay high. I would like to cut a dovetail and use a blade sight, but that sound like a bunch of work. Anyone ever do this?

Log Cabin Will cut a dovetail for 10.00. They are in the links. Dilly
