I've got my sights set on ...........

 

I was trying to describe how many everyday sayings came from origins in the Muzzleloading / Flintlock rhealm recently. I couldn't get beyond:

Flash in the Pan
Lock Stock and Barrel

You asked about "Muzzleloading and Flintlock", not just anything related to guns, right?

I can't think of any that haven't been mentioned.
