That is a very nice looking rifle.
Wish I had the talent to do something like that. Well done.

Thank you Eric I'm trying. I hope the next one is a better representation.

Thanks to you others for the kind words.

Nice job! Did you make the brass extension under the forearm or did you get that from the supplier of the other brass parts?

Bruce: Did I send you pix of the re-stocked rifle that used Verner parts (including a signed patchbox lid)? It has, what appears to be, an original entry pipe extension that's much like yours. It seems that the drill could slip for Andrew too.

No Eric, if you did I did not recieve it. I just made this one up as I went. I did OK then??
I'd still file those pictures away!
I should post some detail photos of this gun so I can get some input. Just don't look to closely at the carving. I suck at it!!!!

Jersey Flinter, I made this Pipe extension/wearplate to cover a big booboo.

Here's the pix. Would love to have seen what the original gun looked like. Probably typical Verner as he didn't change his style much (per the two known signed guns).

That is a good look at one of Herr Verner's pipes, belly plate notwithstanding. One of the things it's hard to discern from most photos. No denying the patchbox, huh? Buttplate looks like a later percussion type and the stock looks a bit beefier for his work, but still good details to be gleaned.
Thank you Eric. You are always generous with your knowledge! Some do appreciate it! (ME)
