It's a 20 ga. made by Matt Avance. Kind of plain looking, but I like it like that. I've heard of the maker, but don't know anything about him.
I've got afew smooth bore's, but their muskets or shotguns & big & heavy or DB percussion.
Can anyone tell me a little about the maker of my 20 ga. fowling gun?
Thanks Thomas

Will I got to shoot it & on the fourth round I dry balled it. I was able to clear it with a ball puller, which I had just gotten afew days before.
Shot good the little I was able to shoot.

I had Matt make me 20 ga. fowler and very happy with. Plain looking is fine for me.

I have a 20ga fowler built by Matt Avance and like it a lot. It's rather plain and iron mounted but has nice wood. I ordered mine with a rear sight; and it works very well with both ball and shot. They are truly fine guns.

Yeah. He rushed out of his shop with about 20 guns built on speculation to come to a Rendezvous in Missouri. Jack did that a lot in the late 1980's.
