Hello. I thought I would join my first BP forum. I;ve been casually shooting for a couple of years. I own an 1858 New Army Remington and an 1860 Army Colt. Both are in 44 caliber. I make my own round balls with a Lee mold and plumbers lead. I had an 1849 Colt Pocket but traded it. Also, I'm from North Carolina. Considering getting a 45-70 but they are kinda expensive.

Thanks for the welcome. Can someone tell me why the word 32 Cal. is under my display name? I didn't put it there.

Thanks

Welcome. I spent a year in the big town of Dudly back in the early 70's. (Never could see a reason to go back.) :: Now we have to get you fixed up with a .54cal caplock to go with your revolvers. I would say a .54cal Sharps but that don't load from the front. What the hey, are you game for a flinchlock? Anyway, welcome to the best forum on the www. :hatsoff:

Merdean:

I was raised in a little town about 15 miles from Dudley called Princeton. It's between Smithfield and Goldsboro on HWY 70.

Were you in the AirForce at Seymour Johnson?

I have a friend who makes flintlocks but I haven't gotten into them yet.

Welcome Tarheel. If you've got any good stories of Tarheel Corn-feds, please share them with us at the Civil War Section. Tell us what your Great-Great-Great Grandpappy did during the Late Great Unpleasantness Between States (or the Mother of American Family Feuds). :thanks:

Yeah, you got me. Seymour Johnson AFB, 4th But 1st. 4th Avionics Maintenance Squadron, WCS Troop, 1974-75. It has been a while.

Gary:

You mean the War of Nothern Aggession. From one who doesn't think Lincoln was our greatest president or that Sherman was a hero.

Take care.
