I just placed an order for a Lyman 50 cal Plains Pistol. I have shooting M/L rifles for about 1/2 year now and decide it's time to start working on my pistol shooting. It a cap pistol.

I firgue the loading process is pretty much the same as with my rifle. Using Goex BP and roundballs. It's OK to use 2F powder in a pistol?

*I am waiting for my .54 Plains pistol now, hopefully it will be hear by the weekend. 2f will work but 3f will be better. It will burn faster which is the main concern with pistol. Is all the powder used by the time the projectile leaves the barrel?

P.S. Just shoot 3f in your rifle

2F will work okey in a pistol, however you will probably have better performance with 3F just as you would with your rifle.
