Just bought this rifle, not real sure what to call it. Was told it was built by Jack Vance, no dates. The rifle has a Douglas 45 cal barrel, set up as a target rifle, probably bench gun. It weighs 11.5 lbs, barrel is ~44", total length 60". Lock has Russ Hamm on inside plate, with 26 below the spring. Not really sure what I will use it for, balances well but is very heavy, and most of my guns are used by 4-H youth. I'll have to find a big strong young'en to hold this one offhand. Have not done any gun finishing, this one needs the brass inserts where the pins are. Have no idea where to start that process. Will have to think hard if I want to change the rifle to make it more manageable, as in shorten barrel, or maybe some other idea. Have no idea how it shoots, was told it was accurate. I'll try it when I get some ammo, ordered some and a mold today.
