A couple of fellas on the percussion side wanted me to post this prodject gun of mine....

Heres the kentuckian I picked up down the road. front rifle/kentuckian before work starts.

This is here now.... now, still unfinished
forearm carvings
patch box area
raised fleurdeli
vining
big dipper-polaris to scale/crying man in moon

Last night I made a tapered ram rod with a spiral burning twist to it but I don't have pics of it yet.

I'm currently trying to find out how to engrave the brass. I plan to deepen the scratch style engraving on the acorn and man in moon. But I also want to do up the patch box and the toe plate as well as the side.

So, how'd I do so far for my first carving job. :hmm:

I think you did real good. I like it. I like the viney look. That Leman is a nice rifle too.

Thanks guys....I really didn't know if it looked ok or not. I kinda think that I did too much carving at times, and I also know that I'm no pro.

Oh well, I have to learn sometime.

Moderators: Sorry bout the link on the other side needing to be moved.....I simply wanted to give a couple of guys a heads up that this was here....
