Does anyone know how Sen. Kerry stands on gun control. Is he a hunter? Fisherman? He comes from a state that hates guns. Graybeatrd

Kerry is a Democrat. In order to receive the party nomination he will have to accept the party line on gun control. Last I saw the party line was still advocating a total ban on all private gun ownership. It dosen't matter if he hunts or fishes, so did the higher ups in the Soviet Union.

He might well be a hunter or fisherman but I can't vote for someone who looks like Herman Munster's brother. Just my opinion.

Last I saw the party line was still advocating a total ban on all private gun ownership.

And let's not forget what Bush and Ashcroft have done to the 4th, 5th, and 6th Amendment's. We, as a country, lost more consititutional protection since Bush took office than we ever lost as a result of the Brady Bill or other "control" measures. (By the way, who was President when the Brady Bill was signed/) What scares the hell out of me is listening to people B&C about liberals and gun control and ignoring other protections, which are equally important, being eroded. Gun control laws over ownership of firearms may limit the protections of the 2nd Amendment, but it is recent limitations on the 4th Amendment that provide law enforcement the power to kick down your doors and look for them, whether you own them leaglly or not.

On the issues. This is from the Kalamazoo Gazette Feb 2 04. How, if at all should federal gun laws be changed? Sen. John Kerry answered..Quote.." I strongly support all of the federal gun laws on the books, and I would take steps to ensure that they are vigorosly enforsed.I will also close the gun show loophole, which is allowing criminals to get access to guns at gun shows without background checks and fix the background check system." Doublegun is right, there are other and serious protections. However, the second amendment is about the only one politicians will admit to opposing. Remember the censors saying, "I' opposed to censorship, but" and then proposing some censorship law? I doubt there has ever been a major politician who couldn't hide behind a corkscrew.
