Hi,
I just joined because you seem like the kind of folks that would be able help answer my question. I have and original Ketland flintlock blunderbuss with the spring loaded bayonet. It's hard to be exact but likely 1800 to 1820 vintage. I am a collector and enjoy firing, with reduced loads, older weapons just for the experience. I wish to fire the blunderbuss, which seems in sound shape (brass barrel), but have no idea what the appropriate load might be. I've looked about and found zip on this topic, I thought I would try shot rather then a solid ball as it seems more shotgun like, but I readily admit I am unsure. Any advise is welcome.-Matt
