The barrel is 44”

I have one in .40 and have shot some great groups at 50 yards. Round balls are very much at the whims of wind Especially at 100 yards. I have gotten some good velocity with 70 grains but usually use much less. I am just shooting paper or steel.

Apparantly Jim switched to 44” barrels not long ago. This pleases me.
 
I started using 50 grains of 3F with a .395 ball and .015 patch. All guns are different and more velocity made the group smaller. Still have less than 100 rounds thru it so far.
Kibler did a video on rifling his barrels. He uses a cnc lathe in a most unusual way but it works.
