Snake Pleskin
54 Cal.
It was built by Brad Emig, Cabin Creek Muzzle loading, Hallem, PAThat's a sweet fowler. I would like to have a fowler in the future myself, but a Woods Runner will be my next project in the spring.

Yes Sir. I cast a bunch for it and the lead was pretty good. It cast well with minimal dros.Ah so is that lead from me you'll be shooting out of it Scott? Turned out great, have fun!
My mistake. I meant to say the total length of the rifle is 5 feet long. The barrel measures 44".And what about the riffling , should have asked before measuring mine at 57”. Yours will be 6’6” I guess Must have one
Bitter cold west of London. Last of the Mohicans was on TV again last night , no good views of the rifles , it’s the music that gets to you
I was hoping Kibler would come out with a fowler before too long. My plan is to be able to leave each grand-kid one if possible. It was built by Brad Emig, Cabin Creek Muzzle loading, Hallem, PA
Still looks a long graceful rifle. Well doneMy mistake. I meant to say the total length of the rifle is 5 feet long. The barrel measures 44".
Thank you, Sir. I worked on it when I felt good which isn't real often and when my tremors were not too bad.Nice gun, be proud of your work!
Thank you. I have always wanted one like this since I was a young turd running around in the woods.Still looks a long graceful rifle. Well done
That sounds like a very nice plan. I hope they are into the ML sceneI was hoping Kibler would come out with a fowler before too long. My plan is to be able to leave each grand-kid one if possible.
The oldest grandson got to shoot one for the first time about a week ago and fell in love with the little blunderbuss. I loaded it with #6 shot and he peppered the cardboard target every shot. That sounds like a very nice plan. I hope they are into the ML scene
That is one sweet southern mountain rifle you've got there! For those considering a Kibler kit gun, don't judge Kibler by my finished rifle. I put the finishing touches on my SMR today. It was a 40 caliber quick ship kit I saved a few bucks on, The wood finish is a lye wash with Permalyn sealer. The metal finish is Jax black which was slightly distressed. The ram rod finish is just Permalyn. The patch box and toe plate were ordered from Muzzle Loaders Builders Supply.
I added a few more pictures in case someone wanted to see my lack of inletting skills.

That is what I have found. Cherry has been comparable to maple as long as the tools are sharp. Once I get a little farther along, I will start a "work in progress" thread. Again, great job on yours. You will enjoy working with that cherry stock. I know just about every post I read about cherry wood said it was tough to carve/inlett, but that wasn't my experience with this one. A good sharp chisel made short work of the cutting.
Thanks and I look forward to seeing your updatesThat is what I have found. Cherry has been comparable to maple as long as the tools are sharp. Once I get a little farther along, I will start a "work in progress" thread. Again, great job on yours.
Thank you, Sir. The color turned out well I thought and I have a WR in a 54 caliber coming in the spring according to Kibler. Hope you get yours sooner.Nice job! Ordered my Woodsrunner in cherry as well. Really loving that color!

Well now, it looks like you have three more rifles to build. One for each child.Thank you for the compliment, but there will be four grandkids ahead of you for this one.
I guess I do. I already have a trade rifle flinter, so maybe just two more to build.Well now, it looks like you have three more rifles to build. One for each child.
That will keep you busy for a little while. I always made my builds a winter project. Something to keep me busy during the cold winter.I already have a trade rifle flinter, so maybe just two more to build.
