Go slow, be careful, follow the instructions, and don’t be tempted to hack on it to ’make it your own’ (unless you have the skill set and knowledge, of course) and what you’ll have is the functional equivalent of a 3k$ longrifle in virtually every respect. Nothing will make this thread live forever like build pics along the way. Can’t wait to see all the pics culminated in the one where you‘re proudly holding the finished rifle with a goofy grin on your face! ;)

Good advise thanks Bob! I don't plan on doing any fancy carving, I have the skills but it's not what I want on a Southern Rifle. I am adding a Bean style patch box and some inlays.
