It's a recipe from Sam Maloof (Beezwax,pure tung oil, BLO), then Renaissance wax applied. It shoots very well with a .530 ball and Cotton Drill Patfch. FAST lock ( all of them are).

It's very easy. Just lay the ram rod on a closed vise and cut the groove with a file that has teeth on the side. Rotate the ram rod as you go, keeping the file perpendicular to the ram rod.
