I feel like the Kibler Hawken will be the finest Hawken available.
From watching the video you can tell that Jim put his heart into the design. And he's matching all the best parts from every original he could examine.

I was fantasizing about a big'ol monster bear, bison, and elk rifle... and I suppose the short barreled 58 will fill that role for many people, without being heavy.

Adding a percussion to the Kibler family will surely please the folks who have been wanting a Kibler,... but not a flintlock.
Thanks! We're aiming to make it the absolute best available.

Real good friend of mine has built 3 of Jim's rifles, a Colonial, SMR, and a Woods Runner. Him, and another friend have talked me into getting a WR. These 2 ol boys have assembled beautiful rifles, that are fantastic shooters. My only delima is, I'll be like a fat kid standing in front of the ice cream truck, "what caliber, what wood to choose." The testimonials from guys on this forum, and Jim's reputation for historical accurate, and flawlessly functioning rifles is enough for me.

We are going to have a live youtube video on Saturday February 1st. With this style you can type in comments or questions during the video and we'll try to answer them. The upcoming Hawken should be a great topic as well as anything else associated with our business including future gun kits, accessories etc. Should be fun! Hope to see you there. Here is the link:

Glad this came out now. I am not going to wait. I am going to stick to my original plan and get one from the shop. This will be great for some though.
I am going to rethink my plan. After some thoughts I would rather have a .58 or .62 cal. TOW's Bridger is available in those calibers and the Hawken shop only offers .54 and is $1600+. TOW's Bridger is about $1200 the way I would want it, and if you have them do the "gunsmith" work to bring it to the level of a Kibler it is close to $1500. I think I will wait and see what this ends up at both in style and cost. After all I have rifles to shoot and keep happy. :)

With all due respect, it won't even be close to the level of what we will be supplying. Trust me with this.

I'm willing to bet a snort of good bourbon, that his kits will be awesome if a Hawken rifle is your thing. Caliber, and wood will be the hardest decision. For me anyway 🤔
I think the most traditional caliber would be .54 and the most traditional wood would be relatively plain maple.

I'm leaning towards a 54,:but I think the fancy maple they offer is next level gorgeous. Mine will be mostly for hunting, but there's nothing wrong with killing a deer with a damn good looking rifle.
