I tried the search function and can only find a couple of posts with nothing bad to say about KIK black powder, but no threads.

About to place an order and see the KIK is a dollar or so cheaper than Goex, which is all I've ever used up to now.

Does anyone have any experience they can relate to using KIK? Thanks.

never used it but if goex works for you don't fix it (assuming your ordering bulk) its a lotta powder to wish you hadn't ordered? $1.0 a can is not a llota money to be worried about (for me).

I'm gonna order some after holiday and will stick with Goex which is also all i have ever used. Mainly because of all the posts. May see if I can get a single can of swiss to try though.

I've used KIK a lot, 3fff is all I've used and it does very well and the fouling is minimal.

Have shot a couple of cases of KIK, it's very good powder, that compares quite favorably (accuracy, velocity and clean burning) if not better in some instances to the now discontinued Goex Express powder.
There are a number of bpcr shooters that use the stuff and shoot very well with it.

My last powder order was for KIK. I've shot a few pounds of it. 2F. I find it to be a very good powder in performance. Tests I had read online were generally in agreement it provided more velocity than GOEX. I do notice that it has some "dust" in it. Not "clean" looking like Swiss. I have had no issues with excessive or "hard" fouling.

I would buy KIK before normal GOEX for the value.

I won a lb a few years back and tested it for velocity consistency and found it actually more consistent than Geox. And a little bit "cleaner". So I bought a case , shot several lbs with no problems. I found Powder Inc. was the best place to get a case. They are good people to deal with! :hmm:

I appreciate the feedback, I stayed with the "if it aint broke, don't fix it" plan, and ordered more goex. I still have only heard good things about Kik, though.

I guess I have somewhat different thoughts on Kik. I put it side by side with Goex and Schuetzen...all FF on the range one day. Testing in both my .50 and .54 cal Investarms Hawkens. Although I couldn't tell much of a difference in accuracy, I could definitely tell a difference in fouling.

The Kik was by far the dirtiest, followed by Goex, and then Schuetzen. I swabbed between each shot, shooting 10 shots with each powder using the same weight within a given cal (70gr for the 50cal & 80gr for the 54cal). The swabbing patches were noticeably dirtier for the Kik....at least 50% dirtier than Goex. The Schuetzen was just a touch cleaner than Goex in my opinion.

Now I don't have a chrono, so I can't provide any feedback in the velocity area, but there's no question that Kik was dirty for me than Goex or Schuetzen.

Although Kik is maybe a couple of bucks cheaper per lb at Powder Inc than Goex or Schuetzen, I don't think I'll get it again or if I do, I'll just use it in paper punching 40gr loads for the kids at the 25 yard range.

Oh, ignition was the same for all 3 powders using a CCI mag cap; instantaneous.

Next I have to compare Schuetzen vs Olde Eynsford since they're roughly the same price.
