Here's my son's and my knife accumulation and sheaths. Nothing wonderful here but it was our Rondy gear years ago. I'll try to identify what I know as to makers.
Left to right:
My throwing knife-Thurman Donovan (deceased) maker, sheath-Speedy Hogarth
My main camp butcher-maker unknown, sheath-Speedy Hogarth
Canoe Knife and sheath-maker-Speedy Hogarth
Big File Bowie-maker unknown, curly maple sheath-my son when he was 14.
My son's camp butcher-maker, me, sheath-my son when he was 14.
Bottom row:
Fleshing knife-maker-unknown
Paring knife-maker, me
My patch knife-maker unknown but it is made out of an Irish Drury kitchen knife.

Howdy,
Collection looks good.
I spoke to Speedy on Friday, June 3rd, and told him about seeing your knives, sheaths and the Thurmon Donavan knife. He was glad to hear the sheaths were still in use. I was not living in this area when Thurman was alive, but I knew who he was and have heard stories about some of his exploits.

I'm glad you mentioned these sheaths to Speedy. I haven't talked to him in 20 years or more. He and I and our sons used to do a lot of camping/canoeing together and we were founding members of The Patuxents.

Howdy,
Speedy and Jason are still into the camping and competition. Speedy is still making bags and Jason is building rifles. We were camped at Shepardstown, WV on a brother Patuxent's land over Memorial Day weekend. I guess the next get-together will be at Dixon's the end of next month for the Gunmakers Faire. I am an active member of The Patuxents and hope to meet you one of these days.

Great to hear about Speedy and Jason. Unfortunately my son and I don't do it anymore due to other interests and time constraints but I love to read about this stuff and jabber about old times. Tell him Rich and Jeff asked about him. I will spend a week in NC along with the Harts in Oct. too (Went to school with Don). Don and Carol fill us in once in a while on the goings on at the Patuxents. Jeff wanted to know where to meet up with you guys to just say hello some time.

I still have my armband and flag by the way.

Thanks reddogge, I always like to look at knives. The only thing better than lookin is handling em. ::

Howdy,
Don and Carol are good people. I have not seen them since the Market Faire at Fort Loudoun last year.
As far as The Patuxents, we are having our 2 main camps on Memorial Day and Labor Day weekends like the old days only instead of Meyersdale and Davissonville we camp near Sheperdstown, WV. We also have a winter camp over President's Day in February, this year it was in WV.
A good number of Patuxents are planning on going to the Eastern this year at Muddy Run in PA. the last of September.
Hope this information helps.

Thanks for the information. Didn't mean to hijack my own thread but it was fun anyway.
