i got this knife from a burmese workmate a couple of years ago,he was a budist monk in northern burma when he was a young man.it was made by a little old chinese man that used to sit out side the monastery and make knives and sell them.the first pic is how the knife looked when it got it.i got rid of the lexan scales cut the tang down, the new handle is a branch of an australian gravilia tree.i took the blade to a friends place and he rehardend and temperd it for me and acid etched it as well he said that it is not very good steel but it will hold a better edge now.i spilt raw linseed oil on the handle and when i rubed it off it took on the colors you see in the pics,i am pleased they way it came out sits in the hand real nice.

I like it! Really like the way it turned out.
Did this knife origionally have a chrome finish?
the reason I am asking is I have one I am wanting to remake and I am not sure what to do about the chrome finish and the makers marks on the knife already!
