Sorry, I wasn't thinking. Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS). It's a sheet required by manufactures that lists hazard or non-hazards and safe handling of products. It generally lists what it is made of also. People who work for large companies know what it is because it is required to have available to employees for safety.

I've used Old Zip, and rather like it. It may contain lanolin, but I thought it was mostly bees wax.

I've used it as an ingredient in BP lube for cartridge rifles. When I tried it "straight up" as a patch lube, I didn't like it!

In that I have several # of it, I may try mixing it with some oils and see how that works.

Can you elaborate some on the causes of the dislikes you had with Lanolin as a patch lube?
IE: Too slippery, caused inaccuracy, caused fouling, etc?
I'd just as soon not waste powder/patch/ball if its already known not to be a stellar lube.

That's exactly what I am using, not for my nipples though. I usually order it online.

Well I will have to try it on patches now...just for comparison. My go to is TOW mink tallow or spit.

To be honest, I don't exactly recall. The stuff is about as stiff as waterpump grease at room temperature, and sticky!

When cut with alcohol its used as a high pressure lubricant. If you're going to use it for patch lube, it should work as a smaller percentage ingredient.

There is a guy over on castboolits.gunloads.com that sells lanolin and a bunch of other lube related products. I have lost his contact info but he goes by randyrat and has great prices and does a quick turnaround on the order and does not gouge on the shipping either. A great guy to deal with.

RB

Randyrat is one of the vendors over on Castboolits. He sells beeswax and other cartridge bullet lube ingredients.

Thanks...I'll hold off using it until the summer when the temperature & humidity are both in the 90's...LOL
