Back in the early sixties, I helped "pull" some wires thru a long run of conduit on a pier in Gulfport Mississippi. We used a wire lube that had banana oil as the slippery agent. Stuff smelled like bananas and you didn't dare drop any of it on the deck or your a$$ could slip and you could end up on a freighter heading to central america. Thanks for the memory jog. Personally, I use 1 Part beeswax and 2 parts olive oil as my patch lube. A dab on a flannel rag also doubles as the wipe down for the final fussing before the guns are put up for the day/week/month. Rarely for a month.
