Wondering if anyone prefers 1Fg over the 2Fg? and what the results (reasons) were.
And what of this "Express"? I see it seems to cost half again as much, is it worth it?

I love/hate Fg...

Love: it is a great propellant for large bore guns, it offers a steady "push" down the full length of the tube compared to the rapid blast of the finer powders... (my opinion)

Hate: it's dirty, fowls the barrel something awful...

Haven't tried the other powder yet, so I can't make a comment on that...

I use 3F in everything. Takes less, burns cleaner.

Thank you for your insight, however he asked specifically about 1Fg vs. 2Fg...

I guess if you add them together you would get 3Fg... :winking:

1Fg + 2Fg = 3Fg... (simple math) :haha:

From everything I've read about Goex Express so far, it's a variation of Goex with additional refinement, designed and marketed for head-to-head competition against Swiss, and priced in a similar manner.

Like Swiss, it would offer no benefit for my uses, and I have no plans to pay that price for powder...regular Goex is outstanding for my needs and at an affordable price.

How Large a Cal. you talking about?
.75 Cal.

Musket - Exactly why I was asking. I'm having much better luck with 2Fg than I did with 3Fg and was contemplating a can of 1Fg for the very reasons you mentioned. Would expect less "push" (kick if you will) with the 1 Fg, But I wouldn't want to have my follow-up shots hit differently or be near impossible to load just for less push and report. Probably need more powder (ie; more $ per round). Think I'll stay with what I'm happy with. Thanks. :)

Roundball - I'm with you on the regular Goex (If it ain't broke, don't fix it.).

Thanks guy, you've answered my questions well. :hatsoff:

I use 90 grains of 3F Goex in my .75 caliber musket. It's very accurate, cheaper to shoot, and easier to clean. 3F work great in the pan too.
