I have been looking at a couple of Larry Zorn made guns on line. I am sure he is a good builder, I have never seen one of his guns in person. but how is his guns and locks comparatively speaking?
thanks for any info,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

I don't know that I have ever seen a gun that Larry Zorn has made himself, though I don't doubt that he has built some.

Zorn has been around the muzzleloader industry for a long time. He used to work at the Sharon Rifle Barrel Co. back in the early 1970's. He had been associated with the R. E. Davis Company for many years, too.

I have seen some of his locks and his cast parts and part sets for rifles. They are on par with the industry standards. He makes his own molds and has made many of the molds that R. E. Davis uses. Given the molds, investment casting using the lost wax process is what it is. A lot of the lock and other part manufactures use the same foundries. The end product depends on the molds and the assembly in the case of locks.

Here are a few pictures of a copy of RCA #19 that was built from Larry Zorn's part sets by one the top builders in the country. This rifle is more the exception than the rule but demonstrates what can be made from a Zorn kit if one has the skills and knowledge.
