Welcome from Idaho!! "Esto Perpetua!"
People LOVE copies of movie guns. They even made a copy of the Quigley rifle, in the movie caliber, but I wonder how many guys want to reload for a specialty cartridge like that.Even Hawkeye’s ‘Killdeer’ longrifle is a fantasy piece. I know someone who has one, as 3 or 4 were built by the builder. Maybe not all for the movie, but to ca$h in on the notoriety.
Yeah, that was a good laugh. Wonder who thought that one up?Silk, another 40 yards
It was Hawkeye's kit bag that grabbed my attention. Loyalist Dave kindly identified it as the New Invented HaversackWelcome from Tidewater Virginia!
I’m curious- you mentioned kit bags in the title of this thread, but not in your post. Is there information you’re looking for?

If you listen to the whole exchange between Hawkeye and Uncas, they’re talking about the tightness of the weave, not the specific fibre. And a tighter weave will absolutely improve your accuracy at range, all else being equal.Yeah, that was a good laugh. Wonder who thought that one up?
Welcome from Western North CarolinaHi
My name is Imran and I am interested in 18th Century bushcraft, mountain men, fur trapper survival skills. The Last of the Mohicans film was inspirational.
