Not the garmet, the bean. When I was a younger person, there were strings of green beans strung on fishiing line (I think) drying on front porches in the shade in hot weather. The dried green string beans were pre-canned beans. They weren't great tasting, but they weren't awful and supplied green vegetables; you had to boil them with a piece of side meat about the size of your hand. I haven't seen them for a lot of years.

seems there is a certain type of string beans best suited to this, I haven't dried any of these but my G-Mom had then hanging on the back enclosed porch and cooked them on cold weather.
good eating with boiled taters and a chunk of fried ham and some cornbread. :thumbsup:
