Just poured some Lee REAL bullets, the 320 grainers, to try in my 1:48 Hawken. The load data that came with the mold seems a little on the light side, I was thinking 60 to 70 grs. of ffg would make a good deer load without thumping the shoulder to hard. Any suggestions or advice ? -Thanks

My 1:48 hawken preferred heavy charges. I need to double check my notes, but iirc it was 90gr of pyrodex, and no over powder wad. Lighter loads yielded poor accuracy, as did wad usage. Heavy charges and no wad gave me good accuracy of around the 1 1/4" range at 50 yards.

As with everything, see what your rifle likes.
