Anyone have feedback on the Lee 'R.E.A.L.' slug in a 48 and/or 32 twist barrel? Have read posts stating slugs cast in .45 acp rn moulds shot well in that caliber, but I have .50's.

I've found them to be totally gun dependent, but generally accurate.

The 200gr were absoutely the best thing stuffed in my old .45 Huntsman and .45 Ruger Old Army.

The 320s work better than RB but worse than Minnies in my 1/48 .50 Mossberg accessory barrel.

Ditto my Traditions .50 Buckhunter Pistol.

In my Firestorm 1/48 Flinter the 320s shoot better than 360 Minnies, and about the same as PRB, though with almost twice the bullet weight.

They are sure easy to use though.

My .50 likes them. It also shoots maxi balls very well but the R.E.A.L.'s are a tad better.

I had better results with Hornady Great Plains Bullets in my T/C Hawken, but the Lee .50 REAL was not too bad in that gun. I have since moved on to round ball only.

Anybody shootin them in slow twist barrels with any luck? I'm talkin 60-66" twist? My .53 will handle the GP bullets ok out to about 75, but they are a bugger to get started down the barrel.

I have used them in a TC New Englander with good resultsin a .50 1:48 barrel. They work well when you want a little more thump than a round ball. However, the deer don't seem to be able to tell the difference between the real and a roundball.

Couldn't hit the broad side of a barn with them in my 1:48 barrels. Got me a 32 twist barrel and now they're tack drivers. I shoot them in .54 caliber. The 380 grain are more accurate than the 300 grain. With a wad they shoot better.

I'll put a report about my .50 once I get some slugs cast, shoot some to work up a load. I have a 1-48 tradional and a 1-32 synthetic stock
