I built a .45 cal. Tennessee rifle back in '05. The guys at the range loved it . . . except for one naysayer. Always one in the bunch. He walked up to me and said that I was supposed to stain the stock. I asked him if he has ever built one. He said; "No". I said; "Go build one and you can stain it whatever shade you want!" I really like it and it shoots extremely well. I used a L&R Manton lock. It's a fast lock too. I had to rework it though. Not going to go into detail about that. I won't buy another L&R lock though.

Beautiful rifle Sir. I like the contrast of brown and blond.
Blondes have more fun... ;)

very nice!! i like it, and if you like it it does not matter what anybody else says!!!!

Theres always somebody who thinks the world should conform to what they think. I dont listen to those people. Its your gun do as you please. I think it looks fine.

Very nice! I did the same with one of my first kit builds back in the 70’s. I really liked the look, particularly as It darkened up a bit with age taking on a very pretty, gold-honey color.

as others have said it’s your gun and you can do what you want. House made the gun in LOM and it was light colored. And I’ve seen older guns light.
I like darker, youlike lighter, bob like black, tony likes painted. Ho hum.
If youchange your mind you can always refinish... it’s your gun seems some old timers liked light
