leggings

I have some time off, so I thought I would work on my camp and clothing. I am thinking of making a pair of Leggins & Breechcloth. Does anyone have any good pics or ideas of how the leggings are made and what should I make the breechcloth out of?? Any help would b great

for leggins I take a tight fitting old pair of jeans and mark the legs where I want the height of the leggins. Cut them off and cut them apart on the seam. I cut alongside the thick double seam.Then use it as a pattern. I've only used this method for deerskin leggins, might not work for cloth (too tight) Breechcloths are easy, I get wool stroud from an Amish fabric shop and make them 11" wide x 5' long, fold it in half and cut out a narrower place in the middle and line it with cotton. Length can be cut off to where you want.
