length of a horn

i was just wondering how you measure a horn from the spout to the back of the but plug?or from the end of the horns spou to the base of it near the but plug? just wondering how big are some of your horns? :front:

Momma always said it's not the length of the horn but the magic that's in it.

My campaign horn is 16" measured from the outside edge of the curve to the tip of the spout. My hunting horn is 11".

I always build my horns so that they fit the body good, not to far out in front or back. Then there is also a formula that I follow so that a horn looks right in perspective.
When I buy, I try to get them in the 10-14" range, but thats just me.

For long drawn out shoots I use a horn that's about 12 inches. My hunting horn is very small, about 9 inches. I figure if I need more powder than that I shouldn't be hunting.
