Just picked this rifle up. Not in my hands yet. I was initially dubious about it being a Leonard Day rifle, as all others I have seen were stamped L.DAY. A conversation with Day's son Jonathan cleared this up. In 1981-82 Day entered into an agreement to build 100 of these rifles for a J.J. OWENS CO. The business regulationship soured and only 30 were built. This is No. 1! Has anyone else seen or owned one of these?

My uncle had one, couldn’t tell you what no. it was but I do remember the Leonard Day on top of the barrel. First ml I ever shot, haven’t seen it since he passed. From what I remember of it, handled very nice. It’s sitting in my cousins closet with his other rifles. May be a good day to give him a call.

Make him an offer he can't refuse. He may have no idea what he has.

That’s what I’m thinking. My uncle got me into this crazy lifestyle, my cousins had no interest. Plus, he has no kids to hand it down to.

This might help.
