Richard Beauchamp Obituary
Richard Lawrence Beauchamp, 82 of Richmond, MA, passed away April 21, 2024. Born in North Adams, MA on April 6, 1942, he was the son of the late Lawrence and Exilda Gelinas Beauchamp. He was predeceased by his brother Edward DeGrenier and Sister Elaine King both of whom resided in Georgia.
Mr. Beauchamp was educated in Clarksburg, MA schools and was a 1960 graduate of Drury High School. He then attended a meat cutting trade school in Toledo, OH.
He married the former Rosanne Tripp on January 27, 1968.
He worked for different grocery stores in Charlestown, NH before moving to Bennington, VT. He was a general manager for Charlestown Mill Store, and he was also the owner/operator of Beauchamp Construction Company. In 1975 he moved to Pittsfield, MA where he was the general manager of Knit Town, a clothing store. In 1991 he started his own business Flint Locks Etc.... and ran it in Richmond, MA until his retirement in 2022.
He had many outdoor hobbies such as fishing, hunting, and golf (where he left the game with a 0 handicap). In 1987 he joined the U.S International Muzzleloading Team shooting Trap. Where he won many ribbons and medals. While being a member of the shooting team he was able to travel to many European countries. He had pride in mowing his lawn on his John Deere Tractor!!
He is survived by his wife of 56 years Rosanne (Tripp), His son Douglas of Iowa. His son Lance Beauchamp (fiancée Debbie Thebeau) of Pittsfield. Grandson Mitchell of Florida. Former daughter-in-law Jennifer Carr of Dalton. Granddaughter Jennifer Olivo (Bill) of NH. Great granddaughter Peyton of NH. Brother in-law Eugene Tripp of Richmond. Special nieces Tania and Opal and nephew Jarred. Many other nieces and nephews.
