I can't eat GUTS.
No sausages in 'natural caseings' for you??? No boudin, no brats or 'old fashion' hotdogs? No chitlines? :nono: I guess fresh sob stew is off your list( the only time I eat lights or liver) :haha:

One of my other favorite things to eat for a side or main dish at camp or home is Hominy. The founder and mother of the famous Grit! Goes way, way back in history, so let's read some ways of preparing it.

A couple of my favorites include: Fried in the drippings of pork chops, Use in soups and stews and Mexican Menudo (Tripe and hominy soup w/ tortillas) ..... Not the 90's boy band.

Wasn't this the original topic? ... Grits :dead:
Unfortunately, this is the nature of forums. You mention hominy and it will remind someone of grits. Someone else will think, “ah, menudo”. Then, we’re off on a discussion of tripe and corn in general.

At first I thought a lot of folks had some form of Attention Deficit, but I think it’s just simply that people want to add their two-cents, whether it’s directly related or not. I find myself doing it as well (as with this very post). :slap:

There’s a reason someone made this smilie - :eek:ff

Around a fire any topic would wander. It is the same here... Ask can you paint your tipi poles? Well I paint my wedge poles, I like French blue, historic French blue was a little greener then today's, much like cadet gray that is more blue,I like cadet blue for watch cloaks, I had a nice watch cloak in British navy. How's British navy different from navy hold it how did we get here????

Exactly.

The only possible problem with that on a forum is, when people search for information about something specific, they have to wade though a bunch of unrelated anecdotes. Quite often, conversations will contain 90 percent unrelated posts and never come back to the original topic.

Like I said, it's the nature of online forums.

Sorry but Grits ARE made from ground hominy.

Yeah, let's stay on topic!

All the expertise here and it took almost a week to get to the basic truth. Grits is short for hominy grits.

Bottom line is grits is lipstick on a pig, basically the same that's used to slop the rest of the hogs.

I used to be a hog who liked grits_____ now I'm just a barrow, but I still like grits even if they are hominy grits..... :haha:

All grits are made of corn...some corn is made into hominy...so ALL grits are hominy grits? Doesn't follow. What is the short version of corn grits?

:) :rotf:

:rotf: .....A comedy masterpiece...All those fake southern accents... :rotf: What does it say that they couldn't find actors with real southern accents....
