If they could talk some would tell you there made recently going by crisp screw heads & casting lines still nice pistols, clever work regardless & of course I could be quite wrong .

I don't think most of them posted are trying to say they are original , 96 plus percent of guns shown on the forum are not originals, the thread is "show me your flintlock pistol" not "show me your original museum collectible rare flintlock pistols".

I too have a flintlock pistol, it's an original Davide Pedersoli circa 1980's, in firing condition, showing little use and being in the Kentucky style. :)

Now the 1690 French does look like a wall decoration item and
appears to have the frizzen spring cast into the lockplate.
