Went to a show last weekend in Lapeer and handled my first left hand French Fusil. I was considering a smoothbore and now I'm sold. I didn't know anything about the seller and my wife was with me  so I didn't buy that one. What I have in mind is to try to build my first gun and have been looking for kits with no luck. Are there any good kits out there for a left handed fusil?

Do they have a web site? when I tried a search a site comes up but won't open.

The Caywood Guns site has been deactivated, so I removed it from out links section... :hmm:

What kinda price was on it? If it's not sold maybe it'll show up at Kalamazoo next weekend. :hmm:

He wanted $750 for it. It wasn't bad but I hate to buy the first thing I run across. I'm going to Kalamazoo on Sunday (probably be sold by then). I haven't built a gun before so I kinda wanted to try. And I've read enough here to make sure I get a well made lock. I'm not sure I could pick a good one from a cheap one. I'm checking Caywood now. I also found a chief's gun kit at North Star West that looks promising. Any comments on them?

here's their site

Check Track of the Wolf. They have a couple of smoothbores they call LH. I think what you do is order one without the lock inlet and just inlet it on whatever side you want. The result is a LH gun.
I'm not sure whether or not they offer the Frenchie with this option or not.
