Maybe this should be posted in the Media forum, I'm not smart enough to decide.

The Life of Daniel Boone, by Lyman C. Draper, LL.D., is a real treasure. Few men are as well respected when it comes to the history of the early Kentucky frontier as Draper. His special skill was recording personal accounts of the people who were there, and he did thousands of them. In 1840 he began a biography of Boone and spent 16 years completing it. He then put it away and never published it. It has been a gold mine for historians since Draper's death in 1891. It's much more than a history of Boone's life, it's a history of the entire area during the frontier days. Ted Franklin Belue, history teacher at Murray State University, Murray. Ky., has now transcribed, edited and annotated the manuscript and made it available to the public in this excellent book.

Bob, I agree this Book is a real treasure. I just started reading it and it is an excellent source of information for the Kentucky and Western VA area during the 18th Century along with the details of Boone's life.
