I guess if I was going to try Hoppes or this Liquid Wonder Lube for hunting, I'd consider an Oxyoke wad over powder...

Does Hoppes contain water?
Don't think so but don't really know...not an expert on it...wish there was a free MSDS site that listed all our goodies LOL ...so my less than scientific mindset makes me shy away from any liquid type lubes in difrect contact with powder.
I will say when I squeeze several squirts of Hoppes into a bag of prelubed patches for winter time use at the range, the are literally glistening wet and while they only sit on the powder charge for maybe a minute, there's never any change in sight, sound, POI, etc...but sitting there for an hour may be different, dunno

PS:
Add another 24 hours to the Liquid Wonder Lube test in my freezer...now 64 hours and still as soft this morning as it was days ago

FINAL UPDATE.....JUST TOOK THE PATCHES AND METAL CAN OUT OF THE FREEZER:

115 hours...almost 5 days in the freezer and still as soft as they were days ago .

When I picked the patches up off the can I got noticeable liquid on my fingertips.

Well,I guess we know now that it would work great for Winter time shooting. I meant to ask....have you ever done the same test with Hoppes #9+ ?
Thank you for the test.

No, sure haven't...

No...

Hoppes is not new item...plenty of other people have it, so someone else can step up and run that test

I concur with your findings (haven't done the freezer test) but I was wondering what this cost? :hmm:

...set it on a shelf in the freezer...after explainng to the Chief-of-Staff what I was doing.

Maybe dinner out some where? Nice?

That smell of the Oxyoke Wonderlube reminds me of liniment mostly. I recall shooting 70 (all I had left) round balls one afternoon using Pyro-rust P and not one wipe between shots. Impressed me. Found this thread by googling what was the smell of it. Wondered if that’s what made it work?
