Finding supplies is a chore. Buddy has a .45 CVA trapper replica. Load info says a .440 ball and a .015 patch.
What about using a .45 wad over the powder and a .454 ball? ( just happen to have those)
OR... powder, wad, shot, and a shot card?

Use the correct Ball and patches. You can get them from track of the Wolf. They ship quickly.

I've used shot in my Traditions Trapper 50 cal. I have a mix of #4-6-9 that was given to me. I used 45g 2f , wasp nest over that and same measure of shot, wasp nest over that. Its good at about 10 ft. I think I counted about 6 holes in a soda pop can. But it did create a boom. It might do better with a 1/8" or 1/4" solid wad over powder.
