Loading lever retainer 1860

Having lost one of these I don’t want it to happen again. Is center punch sufficient to lock the retainer in place. #9 in drawing.

Better to lay a socket across dovetail and tap with a small hammer.

or stipple bottom of dovetail.

Or..... You could silver solder it in place.
