Okay, I finally got back to the range yesterday and tried out running a clean patch down the bore AFTER loading the powder and PRB.
Results were tighter groups @ 50 yds. I also did not experience any problems with the clean patch getting stuck. I believe this was due to the fact that when loading the PRB, the lube left in the barrel from the patch made it easy to run the clean patch in and out of the bore.

I have always thought that would work but for some reason never tried it. 
I am about to develop a load for my Hatfield's and will try it.
