What are you guys using for bullets and powder choice...no round balls
Depends on twist rate. I have a couple earlier productions ones with a1-20 twist rate, while later production examples were said to have 1-38 twists. Probably something to check. As far as the 1-20 twist guns, they seem to shoot many of the heavier conicals with as heavy a powder charge that your shoulder can tolerate or the stock splits. You need range time with your gun and chosen bullet to determine accuracy and POI. With the short barrel, probably best to stay with 3F to maximize the amount of powder consumed in the bore.

Personally like a 50 caliber S&W pistol bullet cast with 40:1 sized for use with paperpatching.

I use 70 gr 3f and a 370 gr maxi ball in mine. I used to use 80 gr of 2F with the maxi but a couple years ago when bp was tough to get I scored some cans of 3f. I have a .32 as well so use that powder (sheutzen) for both rifles. My WMC shot great with both powders but the groups with the 3 f seemed smaller. I backed off on the powder charge with the 3f powder to allow for the faster/hotter burn.
