EWay is were its from i was with him when he bought it. Gun is a 9.5 out of ten. Shoots just as good.

You did good! One of my pawn shop finds was a .54 cal T/C Hawken style. It had a leather butt pad & cheek rest laced on. The first thing I did was remove the leather. As I suspected, the wood underneath was a different color. I don't know if it was because the wood had been in contact with the leather and related chemicals or that the other wood had been exposed to light(s) but not knowing what to do about it, I did nothing. Now after about a year with the leather gone to the trash can, the difference is barely noticable. I'm hoping eventually it will not be noticable at all. Most people probably wouldn't see it now, but I still can because I know where the line was.

Cherry wood and Osage turn darker with exposure to sunlight. I guess Walnut does too.

Just this afternoon I sent a M.O to a member for my soon to be received new Renegade in .54 (with a peep!). He described as very nice and photos looked good. I will be checking for a tracking # in a day or 3. I paid almost twice that but just didn't wanna wait for a similiar find. You did real good.

I once could have bought a CVA .58 big bore at a pawn shop for $250.00. Went back the next day with the cash and an oily patched jag to make sure no bulged barrel and it was GONE! Appears there was an old man lurking while I was handling it and soon as I left he snagged it!! Next time! I gotta start a little trunk kit with oil and different size jags so I wont every have that happen again!!
