Friends, our 2nd Amendment rights are always under attack and the NRA has been a constant for decades in helping fight that fight.
We have partnered with the NRA to offer you a discount on membership and Muzzleloading Forum gets a small percentage too of each membership, so you are supporting both the NRA and us.
I remove mine each time and wipe with damp cloth on a finger, then dry, lastly oil and wipe
Every three or four times I disassemble and clean again just damp then oil and reassemble
Not much gets inside
Interesting thread. For many years I rarely pulled my locks off. I found most of the to be very clean when I did pull them even after many shooting sessions, After reading here, I do pull them more often but still not every time. What I did do was buy a set of spring compressors so that I could take my locks apart and polish them. While i don't have the equipment to prove better lock times I can tell from the lighter trigger pulls that the lock function is improved. The fact is that for most of us just cleaning and lubing once a year is enought to maintain our rifles to an acceptable degree of functioning.
