It's Manton's recessed breech. Usually the inner pivot for the steel lies along side the barrel, this one goes a little bit further :shocked2:

The work is first rate. To fill in the flats where the pivots used to sit he dovetailed extra metal in to the barrels. So as not to weaken the bores he used a round bottom dovetail :shocked2:
