Looking for flint lock rifle

I want a 54 caliber with a one in 66 twist to shoot patch round ball, cant seem to find any. can some one help?

Check with the Gun Works in Springfield, Oregon. They should be able to fix you right up. All of their custom rifles are available in flint or percussion. Great people to deal with.

The Pedersoli frontier is sold by Cabela's has a 1:65 twist in its .54 caliber version.

If you wish to do some of the work yourself, you can try one of the Colonial American Long Rifle kits from Jim Kibler which will come with a long, swamped, .54 barrel with a 1:66 twist, and you get a choice of wood for the stock and whether or not to omit the patch box.

Why that twist? It will work with heavier charges. But a 1:48" will give top accuracy with lighter charges and is very forgiving with heavier hunting loads. Yer gun, yer choice. But you are limiting yourself by insisting on the 1:66" twist.

What style of gun do you prefer? (long rifle, plains, military, etc.)?
Do you want a factory gun, or custom build, build yourself?
Budget?

What I want a flinter fer is just to go to the range and target shoot and get that wonderful smell again I can no longer hunt.

It is one of the easiest "kits" to assemble.

Check out the Jim Kibler video. It may be a great kit with accurate inletting. But, it is not a 'snap-snap-click-click' assembly job. Some fitting, time and skill is still required to make the parts into a nice rifle.
